This was just lazy writing and lazy directing

I rarely write a post bashing a directors effort or actors effort in a film as I appreciate the work that goes into making films and creating stories but when something like this comes along it irritates me.

This was the laziest writing and directing I have ever seen, I can't think of a more predictable money grabber ever? This entire film was a con to make easy money for the studio and the director had no bother in creating mystery or horror.

Poor effort.

Having actors in their mid-twenties pretending to be teens didn't help.

Eh, that's par for the course for horror flicks. Part of the charm. Now usually the reason they cast in the age range is because actors there tend to be more talented than underage performers. In this movie though...not so much...

I thought they could've worked on the characters. None of them seemed to have that much personality. The story itself wasn't too bad. It's just that we had to experience it with characters who really weren't that intriguing. Lin Shaye's character was the most intriguing but she only had about 5 minutes of screentime. Overall, I didn't like or dislike the film. I feel indifference.
