Did you find this funny or not?

I am 30 female and I found this really funny, I went to see Ron Burgundy 2 straight after I think I laughed the same amount for both films, I liked Last Vegas more than Ron Burgundy 2

The first half had a few laughs. Nothing really big though. The second half I just found depressing. Not as in I found it depressing to see such great actors in such a movie but kind of depressing to see the contrast between the young and the old. I don't know. I think I found it depressing how you can be restricted when you're older. If that makes sense.

Yeah, it's funny as i got pretty much what i expected from it. i am a 34 year old male.

my favorite comedies of 2013 are...

1.The Wolf of Wall Street (this is also my #1 movie of 2013 in general of the 89 2013 released movies i have seen at this point. but i could see how many who like 'Last Vegas' might not like this being it's more vulgar/adult themed in nature with quite a bit of nudity/swearing/drugs. but the controversy of the sex/nudity in this is not as bad as it's made out to be purely because being the movie is heavily comedy themed it takes away from the nudity/sex to where it's not in a serious tone which then it would have been more reason for people to complain. so on paper it looks pretty bad but when you actually see that the movie is in comedic tone it's not as bad as it's made out to be.)

2.We're the Millers
3.This is the End
-.The Heat
5.Last Vegas (this is the only PG-13 rated one of the bunch as the rest are rated R)

but if you don't count Wolf as a simple straight comedy then just go below that as the rest are clearly straight comedies. Wolf is probably more of a dark comedy but i laughed quite a bit throughout Wolf as even though it's 3hours it passes by pretty quickly as it's pacing is solid throughout the movie as my interest in it never slips up.

but out of the four i mentioned for those who like Last Vegas i would say The Heat is probably worth checking out as it's probably the least potentially offensive of the ones i listed who like a bit more family friendly type of stuff. i just assume we are talking PG-13 or R rated stuff in general because it's fairly rare to find anything of quality that's not got a rating of PG-13 or R.

i still got a little bit of comedies left to see (i.e. Grudge Match(which i suspect may kind of appeal to this Last Vegas crowd given it's similar with the older guys having a bit of fun but with a boxing type of theme)) but i am pretty much done with seeing comedies for 2013 at this point.

but in terms of family friendly i would rank like this (with #1 being the most family friendly with #5 being the least family friendly)...

1.Last Vegas (this would be obviously #1 because it's the only PG-13 one i mentioned as the rest are R rated)
2.The Heat
3.We're the Millers
4.This is the End
5.The Wolf of Wall Street

p.s. i never seen Ron Burgundy or the 2nd movie but it's mostly because i never really cared for Will Ferrell's comedy in general. i always was more of a Adam Sandler fan myself as he's probably the all around safest bet for an actor that primarily does comedy movies. i have only seen maybe a couple of films with Will Ferrell in them and one of them (i.e. Stranger Than Fiction) was not his more typical type of comedy role either. it's possibly i might give some of his other movies a shot in the future though as there is some i might see but i just never got around to it yet.

I have seen This Is The End some bits were a bit far fetched but I enjoyed most of it, also I am a fan of Rogen, Seth and Franco.

I might go and see the Wolf of Wall Street. Did you find any of this boring or not?, the reason I ask is that its on for 3 hours.

I don't fancy We're The Millers or The Heat.

If you like We're The Millers then you might like The Family, I found it ok but quite boring.

I am not really into Ron Burgundy but I like Ferrell, Carrell and Rudd but I did laugh quite a bit at Ron Burgundy 2.

but the controversy of the sex/nudity in this is not as bad as it's made out to be purely because being the movie is heavily comedy themed

We need to stop watching the same movies. That's like the fourth time I've seen you bring that up.

Found is quite enjoyable but very predictable. Some funny bits but not laugh out loud funny. Average really.

I didn't find it all that funny. Predictable is the right word for this film. I wanted something that didn't go as I thought it would. Douglas winds up with Mary S.-check. Kline's character does not go through with cheating on his wife-check. De Niro finally goes out with the neighbor's grandmother-check. There was nothing surprising in the film. It was pleasant and forgettable.

reply

It was funny in places. Some nice one-liners. They seemed to behaving fun making it, which was kind of infectious.

reply

I did and I'm actually surprised by how much I did. It's been flat out depressing watching De Niro go from crap comedy to crap comedy in recent years so seeing one I actually enjoyed was a very pleasant surprise. I felt the same about 'Escape Plan' with Stallone, so let's see if 'Grudge Match' can do it for both of them.

I watched it yesterday on a lazy, recovering Sunday... and I'd describe it as one of those films too, A Sunday film for when you're laying around, trying to eek the rest of the comfort and fun out of the weekend. It was funny, amusing, it made you roll your eyes occasionally but it was better than I thought it would be.

reply

Yes, perfect movie for a laying-around Sunday and some laugh moments (and cringe-worthy moments). Can't imagine paying to see this in the theater.

reply

It made me almost despise Bob DeNiro for agreeing to do this. This movie stunk lady. Everything that you see has been done before in any other generic 'comedy' Hollywood spews out every few months or so.
