Young German Couple x Holiday in Sardinia / Emotional Uncertainties

I'm not sure how this one will fly in the U.S. The film asks us to make a serious effort to get to know these characters, while making them as exasperating and unsympathetic as possible. And I mean REALLY get to know them, because everything that happens here is (as Henry James would say) determined by these people and their, well, issues.

Is there a German equivalent for folie deux?
