Effing good!

Why don't more people watch this?

Top class entertainment with the violent sensibilities of 70s cop shows, the espionage and mystery element of Spooks, and thoroughly post-modern grey-shaded characters with feelings.

Enjoying it. A lot.

More please.

Perhaps they are wondering how many times Mercer can wander around in broad daylight swinging a handgun around before he's, er, arrested for wandering around in broad daylight swinging a handgun around. Perhaps they guffaw at the least inconspicuous hitman in TV history and vote with their remote hand.

Mmm... I quite enjoy the fantastical, escapist element of it - much like Spooks.

Nice use of 'guffaw', however.

It's not a bad show, but I have always said it is spoiled by the character of Callum. He is pointless and serves no purpose other than to irritate. He's more like an annoying kid brother than part of a crack unit of assassins. He just isn't convincing at all, and it affects the viewers' acceptance of Mercer as a serious, brooding, cold-hearted assassin when one minute he's killing gangsters and the next he's shopping with Callum for groceries like uni students!

They should kill him off, and give Mercer a more mature, slightly older accomplice who brings an element of humour but isn't so juvenile.

reply

I can see how he might annoy.

Again, though, I quite like the zany chemistry and improbable relationship: damaged people finding some small solace in an unlikely, highly dysfunctional 'family'.

I may be in my honeymoon period, however. Time will tell.

He didn't really seem to fit in but I still liked him.

Jody Latham's scenes towards the end of series 2 were so touching.

And this programme is far, far superior to Spooks. I guess Andrew Buchan wasn't the heart-throb that Richard Armitage appears to be, (although they are both gorgeous, Andrew's definately my number one).
