Question about the scene in the beginning.

When Peter Mullan's Joseph character was inside that money bureau asking for money and has annoyed that man by talking about dynamite and stuff, was the other man justified by saying "Do you want your money, or shall I call the police?" or even "you keep coming here giving me your sh*t mate", couldn't he have just laughed along or laughed it off without getting too irritated?

People at times and I myself have said plenty of things in shop about dynamites, weapons etc that may annoy others and I know, yes sinner, I have at times said many things that could be considered inappropriate and even offensive to some.
