Were you watching the film with the sound off? The kid asks why he is smashing the shed up and he tells him that it reminds him of his dog, so he destroys it. It is also something for him to take his anger out on so its a good job its a metal shed. Most peoples sheds would be completely obliterated with one blow from a sledgehammer!
