Puts me off housing estates

No police, no housing manager, no social services, just people left to with their own base behavior, where you either hide or fight.
This film makes Britain look like a scary place.

Hannah didn't live on a housing estate, yet her husband was kicking 10 tons of sh*t out of her on a regular basis. Low life's come in all forms, not just housing estates.

Yes of course but I'm talking about what goes on not behind closed doors but out in the street which effects your person and property.
There are some rough areas in Britain, even no go areas for police i understand.

I agree with you that this showed a scary way of life of people living on housing estates. However this isn't just a British thing, if you look at cities likes Paris, Madrid, Berlin or Rome which have housing estates with the same grim things going on. French cinema in particular often portrays the same kind of thing.

Well... it is! That's the only thing this film is successful at.

Have you ever left suburbia? forget the police, housing manager, or social services, what this movie was sorely lacking was sunshine.

I hope you've got an army of raisins because I've got a major scoop
