Why did she kneel down?

When Joseph confronts her of killing her husband the reaction is insane. She was crying, shaking, panicking and shrinks until she lies there on the floor completely destroyed. Was that necessary?

Even then her husband was dead, he had power over her. And even though she cried for help Joseph just stood there and stared at her as if she was a guilty criminal. It was *beep* disgusting, it was really hard to watch that scene.

Or is it related to the title, she crawls like a tyrannosaur, a monster when she's in fact was just trying to escape?

I guess you're a man, I'm too but I know that women feel mental pain much more physically than men. She was mentally and physically exhausted. I tought that was very clear in this scene. What a performance by Colman. The husband pleading for forgiveness scene was one of the best.. the hate and fear of Colman's character was acted so perfectly. Amazing performance.

I took it as a habit because she was so religious.. She knelt to prey to god and in a way she was probably begging for gods forgiveness. As the previous person has said as well, she was physically and mentally destroyed by this man.. He had taken away everything she held dear (her ability to have children) and she felt as though her whole life had been taken away from her.. I can completely understand her reaction - she was scared of going to prison for what she'd done but also knew she had done the right thing

Man, that's a perfectly normal reaction, from both. To me it felt natural, pretty well performed and directed, and also, yes too much, but like the movie itself. Why didn't you felt that way about Joseph holding the dog's head...?

Because she had been through something so incredibly traumatic the weight of it all left her legless.

Seriously, appropriate human reaction.

And also, what was Joseph supposed to do? Hug her and tell her everything was going to be alright? She had just killed her husband. Not only that she had left the house for days and stayed with Joseph - they were building up more rapport and trust to the extent Joseph was going to go and kick the s*it out of the husband anyway. And then he finds a dead body. He knows that she's gone over the mark. He knows exactly what is going to happen. If he were to go "There, there love, everything is going to be OK. Shall I turn on the tea?" that would have been a bizarre response.
