Is Metro city a real city?

I don't live in the US and was wondering whether or not Metro City which Condemned takes place was a real american city or if it's purely fictional?

reply

O live in the in the UK and in all the video games that I've played I don't think any of the cities are real (apart from the 4 cities in Assassin's Creed). They may be based off, and actually modeled after real cities but I heard that the American Government doesn't just let any game take the names of real cities, especially voilent games.

Driving games on the other hand, if there are no underground racing or involves running from the police, are allowed to be named after real cities.

All of this I research and was told. Actually makes sense though.

It is better to keep your mouth shut and look stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt.

A lot of North American cities are similar in design. The city in the game takes aspects of a lot of places (mainly Chicago and New York mainly) and mashes them together. It isn't based on a single American city in layout.

"Metro City" seems like a dramatic version of Detroit.

The U.S. government could care less about videogames using real-life American cities. The film industry does it all the time.
