I need 3 things explained ! ( SPOILERS )

1. The story, I have played the first game but that was a long time ago. So why is Desmond in the animus and why do they have to go back in time? What are they searching for?

2. The ending of AC2 ! why did the "God" talk to Desmond? Not Ezio?

3. The truth video, subject 16. It was Adam and Eve...and?

I dont know if the story was hard to follow, or its me thats dumb!

1. Because they are trying to stop the Templars from F'ing the world up. Pin pointing the specific moment in time that they really rose to power. Know your enemy and all that jazz.

2. Its not a God, its a creator. A being that possibly came from another planet or was the prior incarnation of man on earth. Minerva spoke to Desmond because she knew the turning point for the templars victory would take place in Desmonds time rather than in renaissance Italy. Being all knowing, she knew Abstergo would delve into the past and planted the message for Desmond to find.

3. The "Piece of Eden" was the apple from the tree of knowledge in the Bible, the "Forbidden Fruit". In the Bible it is made out that serpent sought to create imbalance by coercing Eve into tempting Adam with this forbidden fruit.

This is a neat little plot device. It makes Adam and Eve out to be much more noble than the blithering, materialistic and naive idiots that the Bible depicts them as. It shows that the creators weren't so benevolent as the Bible would have you believe that God is. At the end of the video you see Eve entrust the Apple to Adam relying in his abilities to keep it from the creators, rather than tempting him with something he shouldn't have and getting his ass evicted from Eden. Perhaps the creators are an oppressive bunch and can no more control the power of the piece of eden than man can. Man, grows smarter and decides to liberate it in order to attempt to save its own existence.

Moral of the story? The world is full of temptation that you can't avoid...

you're not dumb, its a pretty crazy idea really and its open to a degree of interpretation.

Let me know if i can clarify anything else, i'd be happy to do so.

thanks for the reply! Now I understand the story and "Piece of Eden".

But why was Adam and Eve in a "modern time" environment? the footage looked like it would be from the future

Why and how Adam and Eve resisted the pieces of Eden I don't know

My theory, especially following one of the comments in one of the glyphs about two worlds coming together, is that Desmond, Ezio, and Altair all have an ancestor who was one of the "other" race. If humans were engineered to be controlled by these devices, then non-human heritage would presumably offer some limited protection from them.
