I know there's tons but for example- I'll probably never forget "va bene" meaning "ok" for as long as I live. What lines, words, phrases can you guys remember?!?
You might find it interesting to know that "va bene" does not just mean "okay"
Its very versatile and changes depending on the context.
If someone were to ask you "How are you?"
"va bene" - would be a semi-positive like "i'm okay" or "not too bad"
Where as if you were making the notion of leaving one pub/bar to go to the next you begin the response with "va bene" - to mean "alright then guys" (followed by the italian for "lets go"
You are also correct in stating its confirmative response.
A lot of Italian (indeed most European languages) are dependant on context.
For example "da puta madre" if said to a friend who's done something exceptional can mean "you are the sh!t" (or variants thereof)
wheras if you yell at someone out the window of your car after they've just cut you up its a rather more insulting "you mother *beep*
Though you might find this interesting, if not, no worries!
Thats the thing with English, its so overly complex and there are so many words that there aren't that many contextual phrases...
There are lot phrases that can mean multiple things but those are dependent on tonality and inflection rather than the situation itself.
Its great actually, it was this game that made me decide i wanted to learn Italian in the first place.
In summary Assassins Creed 2 is not only a kick-ass action adventure game but also a history lesson (in terms of buildings, people, events etc) as well as a tool for inflaming ones lust for knowledge!
