My nitpicks as I'm halfway through.

Overall great game but these things make me feel a little less like an assassin and more like a badass soldier. The Armour. Now the first couple looked alright, leather etc. but as it gets bulkier you kinda lose that common robe look that would help you actually blend in. The swords are the same way, at first they weren't too obvious but the scimitar is so huge.

And finally, what's with the clothe dye? I tried changing the color once, since it didn't really do anything in game I just switched it back. Are there sick color combos or what? overall kinda a turn off.

Other then that great. I keep getting sidetracked but there hasn't been any repeating missions so that's a big step up. The villa is also a sick touch.

Can't keep me off this escalator!

I agree. In both AC games they've done a bad job of capturing what most would consider an "assassin". You climb roofs and are very agile and good at jumping into hay, but aside from the smoke bombs you lack most of the tools and skills you need to perform truly inconspicuous kills. AC2 is better, but still turns into 10v1 swordplay a lot of the time.

It's almost like the Assasins in AC are just a secret society, and "assassin" just happens to be the word hey used to describe it. Like the Templars.

If you're wearing Altaïr's armor, it cannot be dyed. Any other armor will take the color of the dye you buy (until you buy another one). Your choices vary depending on the city you're in. In other words, if you've seen the colors available in one part of the city, they're available in every other part as well.

no I got how the dye worked, and altair's armor looks a million times more bad ass then any of the color combos. I meant more like changing color doesn't affect notoriety or something like that.

As for the stealth, parts were better but parts were also worse. The fact that you could plan the kills in the first game made it easier to use stealth for a ton of them whereas in this game I found myself having to engage large groups more. Although jumping down onto the one in that square building on the water moments before he gets into his boat was great. Especially because the thieves took out the remaining guys around me as soon as it ended.

Whoever said Assassins' kills were supposed to be inconspicuous? They are not Ninjas...

If you read up on your history - the Assassins of the real life religious sect that this series is based on (and from whom we get the term assassination) were famous for making their murders as public as possible - "That guy there, the one causing trouble, he was killed in broad daylight in front of thousands of people!".

Stuff like that put the fear of God into their enemies... In some respects, quite literally. But that was the point. Not some sneaky discrete poisoning, but hiding in plain sight, striking where EVERYONE can see and then still evading capture. If you're clearly not safe when surrounded by hundreds of armed guards in broad daylight, how well do you think you'll sleep?

That said, I also have a problem with the whole appearance of every Assassin. For someone who's supposed to blend in with a group of robed schollars, Altaïr sure has a lot of openly displayed weaponry... and he's the only one with his hood up. For someone who's supposed to blend in with the crowd of fashion-conscious Renaissance Italy, Ezio sure does look like he's on his way to history's biggest Gay-Pride Carnivale while everyone else is almost funereal in their comparative dowdiness!
And no, dyeing your clothes a different colour won't work, because you're STILL the only silly sod walking round with your hood up and a cart-load of weaponry strapped to you!

There's a couple plot holes, sure. But for the most part, it's pretty cool.

Once, I dyed my clothes and my notoriety went down to zero; this never worked again, however...
