I read the manga and all its inconsistencies and suspension of belief. That's why I think this version set in a lonely working woman's enviroment works quite well.
In the early episodes, I found Riiko's antics a bit cartoonish so it was hard to take her seriously but it was great to see her slowly sober up and mature as she comes to appreciate her odd robot boyfriend. The rest of the cast were chosen well from Kronos Heaven's agent Garo to Riiko's boss, Soshi. The latter proves he's not just some random pretty boy as he handles his role as a recovering playboy with panache.
Needless to say, as with the manga, the ending was quite moving so do ready those tissues. As an added treat , do watch the TV Special especially for those viewers who can't get enough of Knight.
