Kratos.Hero or Villain?

I found this topic on another website and thought I should get all your opinions.

So would you say that Kratos is a Hero or a Villain?I don't think he's an antihero. An antihero is a person that performs heroic acts but doesn't fit the profile of what a hero SHOULD be.

Kratos on the other hand doesn't perform ANY heroic acts.He does terrible things and for terrible reasons. All his motives are selfish and he doesn't care about who gets hurt because of his actions.

Zeus isn't really that good either. But all he really did was try to protect the world from Kratos and the Spartan army. The Gods of Olympus are trying to maintain order in the world. So in my mind THEY are the good guys!!!

I should have known those alien maggots booby trapped this sub.

hes a villain. its not even debatable for me.

he may have heroic reasons for unleashing Hope at the end of 3... but then again knowing him, he was probably just tired of life at that point and killed himself in the hopes that he would destroy hope too and as a last ditch "*beep* you" to Athena.

reply

"...in the hopes..."

Was that a pun?

I think Anti-Hero is the best way to describe Kratos

"A True Patriot Need Not Fear The SongBird"

reply

Meh... He seemed more like a bad guy to me than a good guy. I'd say anti-villain.

reply

First he was sympathetic and a hero, second he was the anti hero devolving into the villain. Last game he's just balls out insane with the revenge thing. And he's the villian

reply

To me he is a Villian consumed by his need for vengeance that inadvertently freed mankind from the tyranny of the Gods, but in the process he also killed numerous innocents. In my opinion all of the Gods were pretty evil, by destroying them I suppose he lessened the overall evil in the world or he will have once the initial chaos ceases.

reply

Agreed.
But even as a villain, he shows some remains of a good guy every once in a while. Such as he did with Pandora.
