TVLand has hit an all-time low with this one

I agree with the person who posted earlier that TVLand should be showing Classic television and not reality garbage like this. The quality of that network has just plummeted over the last couple years. What was once a good network has been ruined in recent years by continuous annoying popups during shows, movies that are either bad or are already overplayed, and stupid reality shows like this one. I wish they would go back to showing classic television because I stopped watching a long time ago.

I agree too. TVLAND should stick to their original format - classic shows of the 50's, 60's and 70's.... the way it originally was formatted to be.

Those reality shows really make this network to the level of VH1 and MTV!

reply

AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! Get this crap off TVland and send it to vh1 or E! where it belongs!

reply

Please put this on VH1 which is all ready eaten up with reality garbage. I do not have any interest in it and seeing it on in place of classic shows pisses me off.

I agree, bring back what TVLAND's Original purpose was to show Classic TV, Classic meaning shows 40 or more years old. I never watched "High School Reunion" and pretty much tune in to tvland to watch "I Love Lucy " and "Leave it to Beaver"even though they are edited to add more time for advertizing "High School Reunion" They started advertising this show months before it aired and I was sick of it before it ever started. When I heard the "High School Reunion " Class was from 1987, I had to laugh too, what is classic about the class of 1987? They are The Grandbabies of The People "Classic TV" was made for , if they had to do it why not pick a class from '46 through '64 The Baby Boomer era, and the era all the classic shows are from? Sometimes I think, no, I know, our generation doesn't count. I would much rather see couples on a show that have been married 40 plus years , be secure in mind, and happy, something that the younger generation can emulate and admire , strong couples that the younger generations can glean from other than showing a bunch of neurotic bed hopping kids. I can't relate to any of it, and My Friends who have watched it tuned out too, for the same reasons .

TVLand just shoves that show down everyone's throat. For people that tune in to watch other shows, they etch an ad for it in the right-hand corner of the screen plus show pop-ups for it during programming. I am just so sick of that and I've stopped watching. They need to realize that a majority of their viewers don't care for stupid shows like that and many people want classic tv back.

-I agree that TV LAND should be and was intended to be classic shows from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, the way it was in the 90s up until the eary 2000s. This reunion show should've been on VH1 or MTV or something too. I also don't see what is "classic" about it either as someone earlier mentioned. I'm 20 and I don't think of the 80s as "classic" or the good ole times. That's more like my parents generation and grandparents early 70s and really more further back. Anyways, I must agree again on the promotions for this show, its ridiculous how many times the commercials are on. It started a little more than a month before it even aired, and never stopped. I can't even listen to Depeche Mode's "Just Can't Get Enough" anymore without thinking of this show, honestly.

Thank you. TVLand was my haven when there was nothing else to watch, which was often! I can't believe how over-promoted the show is. I don't watch it, yet I can't escape it because if it isn't on, it's being advertised. From the look of the commercials, these aren't a bunch of class acts. There's nothing in the promos that promises anything except some dull, childish behavior from these folks. Again, thanks! I really needed to vent about this.

One way to try to stop TVLand from airing more shows like this would be to go to their website and sound off. If enough people threaten to stop watching and complain, maybe they will go back to showing more classic television again. I'm just afraid TVLand will follow the same path as MTV which once showed music videos plus other cool shows and now is nothing but reality tv and stupid live studio shows. It is practically unwatchable in my opinion. I can think of two other networks that show classic tv: American Life Network which is only available from certain cable providers and shows paid programming during the daytime and MeToo TV which is only available in Chicago.

I actually miss this show. It was a "guilty-pleasure" show for me.

reply

It's gotten to the point where if you want to watch the good classic TV shows without all the editing for commercials and promotions, you have to get them on DVD. I'm about ready to drop my cable TV anyway. Why pay a fortune every month for this reality crap, which is just Hollywood's cheap and easy way out of producing good TV shows.

I agree with all of the poster who say this (and shows like the Cougar) is more suited for VH1 or the Fox Reality Channel. It really isn't TV Land type show, because most people tune in to TV Land to watch old sitcoms and TV Shows, not fake reality shows.
