That ending. Cop out?

Such a strong film. Perfect bottom of the barrel Vegas film.

Except for one thing. I bet they have an alternate ending where it just fades to black when Angela's car wouldn't start. Everything after that was a deus ex machina. I think if they faded to black there, then people could imagine that Sunny came back at the last minute or (most of us) would be left to our own imaginations, much like Angela would be if she really let her daughter go off with that strange man.

Anyway, very impressive film. I wouldn't give it anything less than 10 stars either way, I just feel that it was kind of a politically correct cop out for them to go out of their way to show a....well, not a happy ending exactly, just not the worst possible nightmare for a struggling single mother story.
