So excited to see Robert Carlyle was awarded Best Performance in a British Feature Film for this at Edinburgh International Film Festival 2008.

From the UK Film Council website: On awarding Robert Carlyle The PPG Award for Best Performance in a British Feature Film, the Jury cited: "It is our great pleasure in the category of best actor/actress to recognise a flawless performance in a great, uncompromising film, a film that touches the heart - and at the film's heart a triumph of a performance by an actor who inspired all of us. The vote was unanimous."

Does anyone know if Summer has got UK national or international release yet?

Just saw it on a transatlantic flight on British Airways on 1st October 2008. I'm sure the acting quality is high, but personally I found the film depressing and a struggle to get through. On the other hand, "When Did You Last See Your Father" which I saw on the same trip was sublime.
