This is exactly the movie ive been looking for..... Any similar to this?

So much emotion parked in this beautiful move. Love, loyalty, bittersweetsadness and nostalgia. There is this last scene, where Shaun looks at the edge of the lake and hears distant haunting voices and sees himself as a child pushing Daz into the water. Someday when i get old i know i will have memories like this.

Are there any more movies like this ? Of an emotional bond between 2 individuals ( parent and child, man and woman .....) which is broken by sadness. Of a person reflecting on the past. Of events over generations, of memories and nostalgia ?

You could try another Robert Carlisle film - Go Now. Also stars the brilliant Juliet Aubrey and is co-written by the incomparable Jimmy McGovern.

"...And When Did You Last See Your Father" is well worth a look, with Jim Broadbent. Also worth checking out is a film called "A Short Stay in Switzerland", which deals with assisted dying, and features a stellar performance from Julie Walters.

Thanks to KlingonFilm - FoaF was perfect - i loved it
Another not so similar story but similar feeling

1 Garage, set in Ireland,
2 December Boys - set in Australia

Waterland has a very similar feel, Jeremy Irons plays a teacher reflecting on his childhood in the Fens
