Sharon spoke slang some of the time, but it didn't ruin the movie (in my opinion) she IS an intelligent woman due to the fact that she was taking college courses. Don't allow a few words to put you off a character and a movie, Beyonce's character was likeable, she was always polite (except for when she met Lisa for the first time) Beyonce's character was childish in that scene with the on-purpose name mistake thing, Beyonce's character (Sharon) was only talking hood when she was angry and upset, when you're in that frame of mind you'll say all kinds of wacky things.

Derek made many mistakes, for sure. He should have let everyone know that Lisa was a crazy woman. After she had drugged him and then claimed to be his wife, his first instinct should have been to have the concierge call the police.

Without doubt though, his wife Sharon had serious jealousy issues before Derek had even encountered Lisa. She had been his secretary and I assume he fell for her and married her. How does she respond: No female secretaries for her husband!

Then when she arrives at the hospital, she puts on a huge scene and refuses to listen to anything her husband tries to say and proceeds to go off the deep end, insisting he leaves the house that he bought and paid for. When she relents slightly and agrees to have dinner with him for his birthday, she shows disrespect on at least 2 occasions.

All things considered, he would have been better off if both bitches fell through the ceiling to their deaths.

I don't think she was that good but yeah. A lot of women are like that in the real world. Doesn't matter how intelligent you are or what your career is when you're at home and you're upset you're going to be yourself.

Nobody has to sound well spoken all the time. Life to short to try and be that impressive all day long.

Not really. It's just a way someone choose to speak at home. Most people have sense enough to know that there's a time and place for everything, and those who don't are the ones who aren't doing anything with their lives.

And you took your survey of “most people” how? What was your population sample? What was your research design? Or did you base your conclusion on most of the people who YOU know?
