Another Rip Off

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...And Anurag Basu must be a charmer since he rarely attempts original topics...Metro being his most original and that still had shades of The Apartment and other films thrown in...Murder was a Bollywood version of Unfaithful...And here we have a film called Kites which is going to be "heavily inspired" by Woody Allen's Match Point...Lets hope he doesn't butcher it...What is cinema around the world coming to?

reply

how the hell is kites like match point? First of all, the movie hasn't come out yet and secondly there is no resemblance in the storyline. I didn't see Nicolas cage dancing around with two girls in a intense love story in match point. What you talking about? What is the brain around your head coming to? Are you on drugs or are you just incredibly stupid?

reply

Nicholas Cage is not in Match Point mate....pls check your info first before you accuse other of being stupid...not that I care (don't know both of you anyway)...

To the op: who gives a flying rats a--??!! I just wana see Hrithik Roshan. IDK how ppl like you enjoy movies or how can anyone enjoy going to the movies w/ ppl like you...who can't go in w/an open mind, always comparing films, and look to hard into the pettiest things! FREE YOUR MIND..and the rest will follow!!

'My goal is to be as nice as my pets think I am'

reply

Although your other points make sense, "I just wanna see Hrithik" blew it! :D

you know what suprises me is that u actually think u know better just because these bollywood no talents add a new songa nd dance sequence so that mentally reatrded ppl like u can go watch it.its like telling that i draw a mustache on hrithik roshan and give him an a afro he is a totally new person

reply

Maybe just maybe you should learn some grammar before coming on here and shouting about something you have no clue about. Have you ever heard of something called a Period? Use it once in a while.

"In the harsh terrain of the Mexican desert, a mortally wounded man is left for death in the heat of the desert sun. This is Jai (Hrithik Roshan)sumit - once a street smart, carefree, young guy and now a wanted man. The only thing that keeps him alive is the quest to find the love of his life, Natasha (Barbara Mori). A woman, engaged to another man, but surely destined for Jai. A woman, who comes into his life like a bolt of lightning, and changes it forever."

Going by the above synopsis..its a rip off
Look up REVENGE (1990) Dir : Tony Scott..and you will know what i mean.

reply

What are you guys talking about? The entire Bollywood indutry is a *beep* rip-off.

"Hate is baggage. Life's too short to be pissed off all the time."

reply

Well.. I am from India. And i am saying "MOST OF THE FILMS ARE RIP OFF".

reply

The inspiration is evident but one can't expect anything totally original from Rakesh Roshan.

reply

I hate to say this but neither is KITES a MATCHPOINT of MATCHSTICK MEN or even REVENGE! :(

reply

Very Close to Revange- similar plot points :)

reply

It reminded me of REVENGE w/ Kevin Costner, Magdalene Stowe and Anthony Quinn

Like the movie 'The Chase' made in 1994 with Charlie Sheen!
It's subplot:
Jack Hammond is sentenced to life in prison, but manages to escape. To get away from the police he takes a girl as hostage and drives off in her car. The girl happens to be the only daughter of one of the richest men in the state. In a while the car chase is being broadcast live on every TV-channel, covering the event from helicopters, the backseat of a police car, the pavement of the highway etc

As for Bollywood not doing anything original, Hollywood recyles storylines too! Only Bollywood adds entertaining dance sequences making it better than just the same story.
