Kites and Kites re-mixed...whats the difference

At my local cinema they are showing what appears to be 2 different versions of this film. Kites and Kites remixed. Anyone know what the differences are?

The Indian producers, the Roshans (father/son/and more) hired a Hollywood guy to shorten and change the film to make it more appealable to North Americans (US & Canada). I don't think there's English dubbing but perhaps there's more of the English language in the remix. I don't think there's dubbing because it has been said that they shot some scenes two times, one for Hindi and one for English. The guy (Brett Ratner, a director etc.) changed the music some, too. He took out the one dancing scene. It's the lead male, a dance instructor, entry into a dance competition. Some say Roshan is the best male dancer in Indian cinema. It's TERRIFIC but don't go to the long one just for that short scene -- pick one or the other based on other factors. Aside: it's not that long, it's the only one I saw. You can see the dance scene on youtube by searching for "Fire" and "Hrithik Roshan". Have fun. Indians didn't like the movie; Americans liked it more. Rotten Tomatoes has it at about 88%! It has action, love/chemistry, Vegas, Mexico, action, beautiful cinematography.

I knew it!!!! I knew they would take out the dance scene. I gotta admit it was weak and I havent seen dancing like that since the early 1990's. The first thing that came to my mind was that I hope they removed this for the American version b/c it'll be a turn off before the movie even go started. Also, it never showed him dancing for a straight 30 seconds & Americans already know when they keep cutting/editing it, jumping from dance step to dance step the person isn't dancing thru the whole song. Clips paste 2gether is not a good dancer & less enjoyable ...But, I found it entertaining b/c I kept in mind that I was watching an Indian film, besides I love most all Hrithik's films. Other than that and the end where they made Hrithik mouth look to gross at the cliff scene, couldn't tell it was an Indian film. It was great!!

In my opinion Rattner shaves way too much out of the movie including some important scenes (and I liked the dance sequence and song montages, too) and the new score isn't as effective. I would definitely go for the original version.

The remixed version is not as good.

Bollywood version: amazing!

Remix version: more English dubbing, lots of scenes taken out, some scenes that were kept were still shortened and reedited, music score was changed in many scenes.

To be short, its not a horrible version but it is definitely a bad version when you compare it to the original. If you watch the Remix without the other one first, it might be an ok film.

For me, music/background is in the top 5 most important things in a film. It creates emotions and the remix did not do anything for me in that aspect.

The Remix Version was Soulless..... Brett Ratner destroyed the movie....
