Half of this movies is all in his head. Just like he described to the therapist. Dilusions of grandiosity. Great performances by the whole cast. This is a very dark insight into adisturbed mind. A taxi driver sendup with humor.
And yes penas character was written that badly on purpose.
What's with all this whining about the sex scene? Just cause we're laughing at a shocking lunatic he can't do anything morally questionable? Don't be morons.

I read your post. The Cable guy was a great movie but you are imbecilic. You wanted an Ace Ventura type character for the lead in O&R huh? Just wow. If you didn't like this movie what in the world brought you back to find my original post?
And the scene where the streaker was shot and blood was everywhere was shocking, disturbing, and absurd. That's what made it blackly humorous. If you hated this type of movie based on the over the top insane main character and unnecessary violence then by all means avoid Eastbound and down, The shining, Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, and A Clockwork Orange. All very dark humor films/shows.
Stick to Adam Sandlers latest works.

The streaker being shot was great, just so unexpected. I like movies that are different and push the boundaries of humour. Everybody thinks they are fine until someone puts something in them they don't want in them!!!!
