I felt the movie could have worked for a better ending. This movie was very funny and very plausible until they decided to give it an incredulous ending. I know its a comedy movie but the ending just seemed a bit cheap.
shareThe ending tied a lot of plot points earlier in the movie together;
-Ronnie knew the pervert wouldn’t strike if there were police or mall cops present and that he would need to go undercover. Which he is when he catches the pervert
-Ronnie predicts the pervert would attempt to kill Brandi and he did
-Ronnie maintained all along he was more qualified to catch the pervert than the police. And it showed, he knew that the pervert would go to Brandi and figured out a shortcut. The police couldn’t have done that
-even though he wasn’t fond of Brandi he still saved her
-he fell in love with Nell who wasn’t pretentious or selfish like Brandi and it was his reward for sticking up for the loner girl everyone picks on.
At the end of the day it would have been a cheaper ending if Ronnie became a cop or ended up with Brandi
