Anyone else wished Clyde would win?

Since it's just a movie and the point of a movie is to make a point,
I wished that Clyde Shelton had won and killed every single one of those
corrupt senators, law makers, justices, police, etc.... kill em all.

The system beeps everyone and the only people that get justice are the ones
who basically win. That's not real justice. I was rooting for Clyde and
was hoping to see them all die so that they could finally change the system
and put real criminals away and protect the innocent.

It's just a movie, so why not go all the way to make the point instead of
letting the stupid fake good guys win just to show us how the fake good guys
get away yet with another crime.

He did win. At the end, Jamie Foxx says, "I don't make deals with murderers" which is what Clyde was after all along.

I would have loved him to win. Clyde is a fantastic character and really relatable. I mean how many people would want to do exactly what he did in the same circumstances. There is a big difference between a vigilante and a killer, look at Batman he took out criminals too all because he lost his parents. Unlike Batman though Clyde was trying to make a point. He was trying to improve the system and change the way things were done. By comparisons Nick who should have been the good way was a smarmy, lazy ass lawyer who was more concerned with his conviction save rate than he was whether he was putting a bad guy away or not. I felt a little sorry for Ames, while he most assuredly deserved to be punished for his crime, he never actually committed the murders and was already got the death penalty, the extent of his death was a little much maybe. Darby however deserved everything he got and more. I would have loved to see Nick learn his lesson and Clyde get away. It would have been much better an ending.

Funny that you say all that, and your signature says 'live and let live'. Clyde murdered innocent people. It would've been a better ending only if he crawls out the escape tunnel and immediately Frank Castle puts a gun to his head.

I agree with much of what you said and think the movie was flawed from the opening premise. And I found the ending objectionable on a number of fronts. The main reason is a fact I don't see many brining up. Nick set the bomb in Clydes cell. No judge, jury or trial. Just did to Clyde what he preached the whole movie was wrong in taking justice in his own hands. At one point he said to Clyde something like "do you think your wife and daughter would want you killing people?". Wonder if after the recital he turned himself in for murder?

I didn’t think of this until I read this, but maybe because in real life it’s the stupid fake good guys who always win, and that’s the ultimate commentary that the film was making. 🤔

But maybe I’m giving the filmmakers too much intellectual credit.

Perhapa not win but i think a tragic, "everybody loses" ending would have been much better than the very conventional one we got.
