Is it just me or does this sound similar to the Rambaldi story line in season 1 and 2 of Alias?
shareIt is nothing like the Rambaldi story line. You should read the book before seeing the movie, although I have been told that the movie differs greatly in certain areas from the book. Victor Garber's charactor does not get the treatment in the movie that the priest did in the book.

shareSpeaking of Alias, I wonder if it was awkward for Victor Garber to work with Scott Foley, knowing that Victor's former Alias co-star Jennifer Garner divorced Scott Foley to pursue her (then) relationship with Alias co-star Michael Vartan?

Remember that Scott Foley played Sidney's fiance in the pilot episode, and asked Garber's character (over the phone, admittedly) for permission to marry Sidney. So there may have been an opportunity for the two to meet on the set for that episode as well as for show related publicity, cast parties, etc.
I think the ending of the real-life relationship ended better for Foley than the Alias one. ;-)
That actually wasn't him. Kinda looks like him to a degree but that actor is named Edward Atterton.
