If it is not intendedly it's ignorance and idiocy

It's quite easy to get some information from internet about Bodrum and environment. You need just enter the word "Bodrum" in Google search engine and you'll see what Bodrum looks like. It's a typical mediterranean Holiday Resort with all beauties and intellectual minimum bilingual people.
Not only in Bodrum but you cannot see any scene in even an undeveloped and isolated part of Turkey. No camels, no those kind of people. Turkish people are Caucasian and with modern European dressing.
Particularly that Bodrum area is a combination of green nature between blue sky and turquoise blue clear sea. It has an international airport and touristic port and several marinas full of beautiful ships and private yachts.
I don't want to say anything about that silly language presented as Turkish. Turkish is one of the most euphonic languages of the world according to linguists.

There is not slightest relation or similarities in that film for Turkey indeed.

What has the director wanted to do? Is he very stupid and ignorant or malicious?

There are only a few places you might find camels in Turkey: zoos, and some rural villages. And those are for display / tradition only.

Fortunately there is this thing called "The Internet" where you can find these truths, and do not rely on only what mass media says. :)

Perhaps people on this "internet" thing, should realize that these things called "movies", especially made for this thing called "television", are not 100% accurate portrayals of real life.

I mean, look at the whole genre of Westerns. How many are actually shot in the West or the places meant to be depicted? Even American, recent ones, like that Assassination of Jesse James, was filmed in Canada (and very obviously Canada).

And just about every single Science Fiction movie is inaccurate (and obviously not filmed on location, either).

As I did in the other post, first I should say that I havent seen this movie and I dont think I will, it seems like a waste of time. And I am a Turk.

I agree that midnight express is a very bad presentation for our country and I also believe that it was intended to be this way. Midnight Express has very absurd scenes such as those prisoners forming a circle and walking etc. However, one doesnt have to be a professor of history to at least have an idea for the period in Turkey especially after military coups. So, I dont know about any foreigners and their situation in Turkish prisons, but I know that Turkish people were not very comfortable in them.

Again, Turkey is not the only country with a previous prison problem. Today our prisons are modernized and I believe much better than the 80s. To give an example, Greece had also a violent military coup named "the regime of the colonels" in 60s and 70s (roughly same historical period) and I believe that Greek prisons were not very "comfortable" for most Greeks who were against such regime (Greek democrats and progressivists).

So, we, I mean Turks, should not be only critical towards the others, we should be able to critical towards ourselves, otherwise we will share the same hypocrisy with those who have blind hatred against us.
