Sage and Megan's height difference

In the book, BOTH Baker twins tower over Megan, but on the show it's just Sage. I don't know if this was a conscious casting decision, but I can't help thinking that it's meant to underline the difficulties Megan faces in trying to be an authority figure to Sage and Sage's refusal to take her seriously.

As a former substitute teacher, I know how challenging it can be to try to act like an authority figure to a kid who towers over you. I'm sure Sage would be just as defiant and disrespectful toward Megan if she were shorter than her, but her height advantage over Megan gives her the power to intimidate as well. Although Megan is a year out of college and Sage is still in high school, Sage obviously doesn't take Megan seriously as an adult, mostly because she feels socially superior to Megan, but also, I think, because she physically dominates her as well.

When the two argue, Sage is able to look way down at Megan when she threatens her, while Megan is forced to look way up at Sage. That can be a little scary. If you recall, Megan's other antagonist on the show, her YOUNGER sister Lily, also towers over her.

"Wicked tiger. He looks proud."

Agree 100% with that! It speaks volumes that the sister she does connect with, Rose, is way less intimidating in stature! And good point with Lily too!
