Wasn't he a kid in one of the season 1 episodes? And now they have him going off to college? What's up with that?

I remember Patty talking about him as if he were a teenager. From what I remember we've never actually seen her son. He's like a mystery like Wilson on Home Improvement(well we did hear and half see Wilson, but hopefully you get what I mean).

They never gave a specific age for him but he was somewhere in his teens. So they were able to get away with him going off to college.
