Little known fact:

Laroche's dog was hidden in the left-hand pocket of Patrick Jane's vest, along with the breadcrumbs. If Jane's release of the pigeon from the right-hand pocket failed to immobilize Red John, he was prepared to release Laroche's poodle as Plan B.
