GHWT has 'rushed' written all over it...

I mean, it does have a good concept behind it, though nothing new if you're a Rpock Band fan like I am. The setlist is rather dissapointing, it felt like they threw a bunch of random songs on there (too many slow ones!). And they broke the Maiden tradition!!!! WTF??? Everything else felt pretty rushed as well, specifically the "Song creator"- it felt rather lacking to me. Overall this isn't a bad game, it just could have been and really should have been better. I'd give it a 6/10.

And they broke the Maiden tradition!!!!

iron maiden was NOT in guitar hero 1 and 2 for the ps2. what maiden tradition? what about black sabbath tradition. there were in GH 1, 2, 3, and rock band. lol.

but yeah, i agree with you. i felt dissapointed with world tour. imo, all songs are super freaking easy. even on expert. pass on day one without failing. and already 5* on expert. very dissapointed with the difficulty and the songlist. i mean... c'mon... MICHEAL JACKSON'S BEAT IT...... yeah -.-

i prefer the first three and rock band. even rock band 2 is better.

I don't think it was rushed but it wasn't the best effort they made. The last one, you had really hard songs like Raining Blood, Knights of Cydonia, Cult of Personality, One, Through the Fire and Flames and many more, yet in World Tour the hardest song is actually slightly tricky at the most (Satch Boogie). Like you said, most of the songs were slower and they were boring. I can't wait for GH:Metallica because that will keep me busy until the next Guitar Hero.

It felt pretty rushed to me. It felt like they took a good concept and rushed out the door with it. And I agree about the hardest song. GH Metallica looks promising, I hope they do GH IRON MAIDEN!!!!!

Keep you busy? Unless they completely balls up the whole thing GH Metallica should be the best one ever. After World Tour I'm looking forward to it way more then GH5

Dont get to high expectations for GH5, they've reached out to a really broad audience, both musically and age-wise. They're kind of pigeon holing themselves that way to make more money. Expect the same random crap on GH5. I imagine it will be a band setting, which doesn't help.

BUT

They are releasing a lot of extra tracks on XBOX Live (dont have PS3 so dont know) that are good. They can pretty much do anything with that. And, ya ya, you have to pay extra but at least you can pick and choose songs you want. Maybe GH5 should be a new platform (like the difference in band mode better RB2 and GHWT) and you can go a pick 80 songs from Xbox live for free since you already paid $60 for the game disc. They could have say 300 songs from different languages, genres and on and on. Could work.

I agree that it seems rushed or too easy. I'm not that great at guitar so I can only play Hard. But I'm getting 5 stars on a lot of songs and even one 100%. Either I've gotten way better or this game has gotten too easy. The reason I chose this over Rock Band 2 was because of the difficulty level. RB I can beat almost all songs on Expert and would like something harder. GH was harder but now I'm not too sure.

The band setting is mostly to blame. RB was a better party game with more instruments. GH wanted to make more money so they did the same thing. Now we have crappy guitar songs because "there's a cool drum beat" or "it's hard to sing."

Also the direction for getting music for all ages hurts. I love classic rock and GH 1, 2, and 3 had amazing guitar songs and I've heard of 90% of them. GH4 I'm wondering what the heck half of these songs even are.

Yeah they could have had way better songs on it, i feel it is far better than Rock Band 2. (i only play the drums btw)

ITs a shame cos as i said in my own post there are a lot of good songs in it, but they are all too slow. I dont mind a challenge, though. The only song i can't beat on Hard is Raining Blood and the hardest song ive played on any of the other GH's was Psychobilly Freakout. But mastering it was the most satisfying thing ever, and it wasnt a metal song.

If they are going to have soft rock it should be stuff worth listening to, and not just crap generic Indie Rock.
