Cheap quality instruments?

I think the instruments were cheaply made. I got GH4 for Christmas and the same night, I found a small problem. The slider thing (below the orange fret) has something wrong with it where it feels the need to play by itself. I'm playing a song then in about three seconds I heard constant strumming and fail the song. But that problem comes and goes luckily.

Two of my friends have the drums (which I didn't buy) and each of them have one pad not work, red and orange respectivly. Another friend's guitar doesn't work where it doesn't strum about a thrid of the notes.

That's just my friends who I've talked to that I know have the game. I'm just wondering how many other people experienced some of these problems. Why are brand new instruments broken? Cheap quailty is my only guess.

I haven't had a single problem with my Rock Band 2 instruments. The Guitar Hero World Tour drums really suck.

the whole game sucks.

bad design, off strumming, vocals is boring, and like you said, the drums suck. everything about this game freaking sucks. the carrear mode is so stupid, repeatitive and boring. and the whole create your songs idea is stupid as well.

I actually found another problem with my guitar... Sometimes when I strum, it double-strums. I strum once, then it acts like I strummed twice. At least I can sometimes use the D-pad like thing below the Whammy Bar to strum. But I can't strum too fast on it so it's not a good replacement. I'm considering going to GameStop or somewhere and buy a used GH3 controller.

halo2222: I, a friend of mine and several other people have had the same problem with the guitar double-strumming. It's a quite common problem. If you go to Red Octanes website and look around a bit you should be able to find a form which you need to fill out. They'll send you a replacement then.
(My friend got his a few days later, and I just filled out the form yesterday so I expect it to get here soon).
