This applies to numerous movies, where the lead character in climax rushes to catch a train or plane as if it is the last plane or train on earth

Yet another reason why I liked this movie, it didn't take itself too seriously :)

Lads humour. That was funny. Given it's 70s British humour we're imagining here. ;-)
