Does anyone know why Angie (the school newspaper photographer) was introduced in the film? She wasnt in the books and isnt in the 2nd film.

Does anyone know why Angie (the school newspaper photographer) was introduced in the film? She wasn't in the books and isn't in the 2nd film.

She was added to try to increase the marketability of the movie to girls. It didn't work, so they didn't use her for the second movie.

Oh, wouldn't it be great if I *was* crazy? Then the world would be okay.

I watched Kick Ass a few weeks after watching this movie.
Angie is even cooler now knowing that the actress who played her was also the one who played Hit Girl.

I like Chloe Moretz but there was really no need for her character in this film. She just seemed to exist to put Greg down and we had Roderick for that.

You have the actor's name correct but it's obvious you can't tell the difference between Angie and Patty.

The girl who was constantly putting Greg down was Patty and she had a reason to do that since she's still angry and bitter at Greg for putting her down(they're still children. Of course they hold grudges. Even adults do as well).
She's serves a completely different purpose than Roderick.

Angie never put Greg down. On the contrary she keeps trying to give him advice but he keeps ignoring it because of his own ego which he then ends up making a fool of himself. Angie doesn't need to put greg down. He can do that pretty well himself.

I haven't read the books, but now you mention it I can see it. She was pretty much wasted in this film.

She could be in the second film due to scheduling conflicts. At least, that's what I heard...

I just thought she had been where Greg and Rowley were,
nerdy, small and trying to fit in.
She was lending advice and had joined the school paper.
I don't know the books but I really liked her character.
But it was Chloe that prompted me to watch this one anyway.
