Does this show give a good insight into African-American culture

I don't live in the USA so I'm just curious to know

It is decent, they have a rudimentary grasp of the culture.

No.

You can tell that a lot of the jokes are not made by African Americans. A lot of the references are outdated lingo from the 90s- which was probably when the writers were last around black Americans (when they were in high school or college). When i first watched the show i thought they were trying too hard. I think part of the reason why this show failed is because it was way off base and felt like Seth was like, "Hey let's make a cartoon for black people- you people think these things are funny, right?" I don't know any black people who watch this show.

You probably don't know any black people period. Along with being an African American myself who absolutely loves the show, I know soooo many black people who watch the Cleveland show, so there ya go.
