So do they win anything for successfully completing one of these outrageous courses, or is it all for glory? Who would practice such outrageous things just for fame?

I been down so long, it look like up to me.
I think I heard the american voice over announcer on one episode say that the challengers get a good amount of money(yen). Like $10,000 or something, maybe even $100,000, I can't remember now. But that would by terrible if the challengers went through all that just to have there name on the Banzuke list on there wall.
Anybody else remember this episode?
