Abramoff persona portrayed accurately?...

Kevin Spacey as Jack Abramoff seemed rather superficial and flip as a person. I've seen Abramoff interviewed in recent month and he seems quite sober and nothing like the Spacey character. Was Abramoff that much of a schmuck before he found God in jail?

I tend to agree, while Kevin Spacey is a fine acter, he is miscast as Jack Abramoff. Firstly, they don't look alike whatsoever. Also, I don't find Spacey believable as JA's persona. I'm trying to think of who is the right actor to play JA. Maybe an older Edward Norton?

Anyhow, Spacey is poorly cast.

I follow current events closely and unless I missed something the Senate hearing scene seemed to take far too much license with Spacey railing at John McCain and other senators present. Was Abramoff really in front of a US Senate committee at one time, and was it any where near that contentious? I don't recall reading about such a clash in the papers.

I don't recall that either. Usually a powerful lobbyist is pulling the strings behind the scenes. Jack had his go to guys on the hill. Also, I wish the film had shed more light on Delay and the Mariannas situation. Under a technicality (the Mariannas Islands are US territory, but not subject to any US labor laws), 1000s of people were forced into what amounted to slave labor. When Democrats brought legislation to the floor to remedy the situation, Delay, as House Speaker, killed the legislation. Delay and Jack profited from these sweat shops. This was the most egregious of Casino Jack's crimes and I believe Delay belongs behind bars for his role in it.

That was a fantasy and took place solely in his mind. It's what he WANTED to say. But if you notice, right after they supposedly took him out of the room he was sitting there taking the 5th again.

It was also a scene from "And Justice For All". Another one of his movie fantasies.
