Does he have trouble speaking? I notice in other movies recently he is dubbed too - sometimes by a Texan etc - in this movie it says that Tao's voice (who is Seagal's character) is provided by Alin Oliteanu.
Whats the deal with that?
Well in any movie most of the dubbing is done by the actual actor. 90% of a movie that is filmed has to be re dubbed. I dont know why but I think its something about the editing. Seagal is just "so busy" he cant come back and do it.

shareHaving read a book that catalogs Seagal's dreck, and having watched a lot of it too...I've come to a few conclusion about the dubbing.
Seagal's dtv stuff is poorly scripted, convoluted and often involves radical changes in plot mid filming or in post production. Sometimes its like they couldn't decide what to do, so they just shimmied 2 incompatible story lines into the same movie...
1) Therefore, I think he gets dubbed because by the time post production rolls around, his original lines make little sense. Also, if Seagal doesn't like the changes then he probably won't even bother to come in and record new lines.
2)I think the non-English speaking markets could be much larger for these titles than the American market. Once you're selling more dubbed copies than English, the mentality is probably *beep* it, just dub whenever it saves $$$$.
3) Remember also that poor Steven is churning out a new dtv *beep* bucket every two months. He might actually be too busy to help the previous film crew make sense of the mystifying nonsense they've already got in the canister.
Because of his voice, his voice is so low that we can't hear him anyway so it's not a bad thing !

I watch in french, so its always fully dubbed, i prefer it this way to be honest than the original english version, its my mother tongue. But i have no problem watching movies in english(or tv shows) but with Seagal i would just not, i tried for fun and i hate the product it gives...
