So just how much did they cut out of the PS2 version?

So I obviously didn't like Mercs 2 on the PS2 and I do know that it can't do everything that the PS3 and 360 versions can, but I couldn't help but feel cheated. I have the feeling that they cut a substantial amount of activity and items from the version I played. I looked at the vehicle list in the strategy guide and when I played I saw only an eighth of the vehicles. In fact, it appears that it's just the same vehicles and items with new skins. Hell, it even looks like the same environment!

Have we learned nothing from Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s??

It all comes down to this: I want to know just how much was missing from this potentially great game when I played this cheap, primitive port.

I don't think anyone bought it for two systems... you may be out of luck lol.

Your best bet is to go to ign.com or some other gaming site and read the FAQ or something.

Sorry, wish I could help.

And the 360 version kicks ass.

Same way I felt when I got Tony Hawks Proving Ground on the PS2. I think the Console manufacturers and the Video Game manufacturers have teamed up to force us to Next Gen. I have a 360, but I will always <3 my PS2. Even though I despise Sony ever since they made the PS3. I <3 PS2

Did you ever think that maybe the next gen systems are just capable of putting in more to their games due to the hardware (or in the PS case, Blu-Ray having better capacity than dvd)?

I didnt get to play it much before my PS2 crapped out and died, so I upgraded to PS3. The levels are completely diffent, I've only played one mission so far that is the same, that I remember from PS2 - and that was the mission where you attack a small island of guys with bunkers and tanks and SAMS, you have to blow up a bridge and a "castle".

explosions and fire look way cooler too

chop I'm pretty sure he's already concidered the fact the ps3 has better hardware. its the the fact that for the people who couldent afford the ps3 version, they make a cheap ps2 port which they cut alot of things from the ps3 port. making it unfair, the people who by the ps2 version who realize that certaint things have been cut, that makes them feel like they have been cheated. I know I felt that way since I got it for the ps2. man was I DISSAPOINTED, especially after finding out that alot of crap was tooken out. its really unfair to have different ports have different things gameplay wise. the only thing that should be different should be the graphix and some other benefit that the different ports have. NOT GAMEPLAY. this really pissed me off. thats why rockstar had to cut down on the material for GTA4 since the 360 couldent store all of it.
