A must see...

I dont comment on IMDB anymore but this movie deserve a comment. Its a great movie about self acceptance and self re-discovery. A very under rated movie which deserve more then 5.6 rating. I think its not released widely yet so its not seen by many people and it will get more popular by time thats for sure. I dont like Renée Zellweger but in this movie her acting was phenomenal as a wheelchair-bound singer and also Forest Whitaker and Madeline Zima did a wonderful job. A very simple story but a great heart touching one wonderfully directed also. A must see for everyone

I agree with you. I rented it on Netflix, and enjoyed it. Not the type of heartwarming dark film that people rush to see in a theater, so I'm guessing thats why it didn't make theaters in the USA, Renee Z did do a good job and her singing was just right for her part. Working in a behavor clinic, I found the mental conditions of all these charactors facinating. It was a great film just for that. The way these people fought through their own depressions, to try for a normal live was really done well.

Anyone know why you can rent it on Netflix but not buy it for region 1 on Amazon?

Doesn't it always go theatrical release (if you get one), followed by video rental, followed by video sale? (That's how it works over here.)
