why was the lady in a wheelchair? what happened? was she hit by a car after her friend dropped her off?

As she exits the car of Piotr, we hear a motorcycle start up, then accelerate. The obgyn cuts through the crowd, the motorcycle gets loud - as if close by.
There is a screech of tires and then screaming.
In a later scene with Karin Viard, her lawyer, the avocat says she got her (the obgyn) a tidy sum from the motorcyclist.
