Rattlesnake Jake

This movie was fantastic, and criminally underrated, but the best part for me was rattlesnake Jake. Easily one of the best animated villains I've ever seen. His lines were hauntingly poetic, and his delivee of them was just sinister. The way he moved was so smooth and creepy. Just a fantastically written villain.

That's one of the things Bill Nighy does so very very well :D

Yeah he was great.

I'd compare Jake's presence to how Shere Khan is revealed in the 1967 Jungle Book; Even though we don't actually see him until 2/3rd's into the film, the writers did a good job of building up his legend through the other character's fear that his first appearance is very memorable.

I agree. One hell of a scary intimidating villain. I was 20 when I saw this movie and he gave me the chills! I can only imagine what little kids felt when he showed up.
