5.0/10?

Uh, it's not an exactly average movie... mind it was a cinematic release.

I rated it a 5/10 because I happen to incidentally be a fan of every single thing this movie had going for it... zombies, westerns, asian girls in school uniforms, etc... if I didn't have an innate love for the main components of this stinking pile of garbage I would rate it much lower. This was an incoherent mess.

If the wider public saw this movie instead of just people who sought it out to view because it looks so appealing on the surface, then the rating would likely plummet.

The only well-made zombie got shot down in the first minute.

I gave it 3/10 (2/10 because there was actually some effort, and +1 for few things I liked).

God help me, I actually enjoyed the movie, but I couldn't in good conscience give it more than a 5.

Exactly.

I gave it a 4. I just completed the game an hour and a half ago on my xbox360 and watched the film immedeately after. I liked the film - it was enjoyable and strictly followed the game formula (although it had its own story, that didn't work with the game). But I liked the fights and the special moves were hilarious. And was exactly like watching me playing the game, just a little more relaxed :-)

Very kind. It's hard to fanthom how they could make a movie about a zombie fighting hottie in bikini so utterly boring. I didn't expect much of a story, but WTF was up with the pacing?

reply

Yeah, the idea being great can only carry the movie so far. Eventually what happens on screen has to come into play, and at that point a 5/10 makes sense.

As you said, the pacing is as bad as can be. They hide for a night, get attacked when they don't expect it, fat helper guy gets saved, two girls kills the zombies with CGI, end. Repeat for 90 minutes. No thanks... with some actual work put into the writing this could have been a great, fun, briskly paced over the top zombie movie. As it is now, it's just an incoherent mess that goes nowhere, really slowly too...
