Mary Poppins right?

I've always wondered if and when Bollywood's going to try a hand at the Hollywood classical musical that is 'Mary Poppins', my search is over. It's nice to see Bollywood braving Fantasy Fictitious story lines nowadays rather than the usual...
What i really want to see is GOOD Horror movies! Rather than following Hollywood movies Bollywood should get 'ideas' from Japanese/Korean'Chinese movies as does Hollywood... That way they don't get branded with the old "ohh its another Hollywood movie rip-off"...

I dunno, just felt like a little moan as I Love Bollywood Hindi movies really hehehe...

When I first saw the trailer, I had thought it was definitely a remake of Mary poppins with the kids and the uppity business man character. However, after watching an interview with Rani, she describes her character and her relationship with Saif's character and I felt that part has been inspired by the film, City of Angels. (...but the male & female roles are switched) where like Nicolas Cage, Rani can not feel love or emotions.

I have not seen TPTM but it is inevitable that she will give up her immortality so she can love him as he does in City of Angels.

I saw it today. Some Mary Poppiness in the use of magic and animation, but a very different film.

It does take a lot from Poppins but it's not a start to finish copy.

Although both share similarities, it doesn't seem as if the director used mary poppins (at least not the character) as an inspiration.

Although both share similar elements, they are portrayed in very different manners. It seemed TPTM was aiming for a fairy-tale-esque story, whereas mary poppins was more of a wacky, feel-good film.

In no sense did I see any similarity in the personality of rani mukherjee's role to that of mary poppins'. Of course they are both magic nannies, but thats about it. He might have taken the same concept, but in no way did he base Geeta (rani's character) off of mary poppins.

There is a saying in Hollywood that "nothing is original!"

To some degree, things are copied from other things. I would consider this film to be a cross between Mary Poppins, Sound Of Music, Nanny McPhee, and TV shows Touched By An Angel, Nanny & The Professor & The Nanny. I think it's a wonderful combination of all these and I cant wait to see the sequal if one exsists! I would love to make an english speaking version of this film one day!! I LOVED IT!! :-)
