I saw this on Netflix per a recommendation. I was looking forward to seeing it, but upon viewing I found myself feeling nothing but that the Linda character must have been developmentally disabled.
The film seems to be well regarded, though, and I'd really like to hear what fans found of interest here. Perhaps some insight from those who liked it --> me rewatching with a more appreciative eye.

Yes, Paz de la Huerta was terrible, I agree. If they'd have chosen a different actress this movie would have been better, by far. She's really irritating and not as hot as she thinks. Aside from the bad Paz acting, the movie had potential but seemed to get lost in the weeds; more focus on the Book of the Dead aspect and less on the weak characters (and their bleak lives) would have been more interesting. Almost three hours of boring characters screaming and screwing got old quick.

Is this not most people? Throughout a large portion of the movie, she was drunk or faded off something and many of the drugs she took (x) makes her more confident and sensual. I thought the whole cast was well selected. They seemed like "normal people" what ever that may mean. Even the monotone drawl that Oscar spoke with fit the character (a drug-head that was probably burnt out pretty often) well.

That's an interesting take, but I'm not sure that applies to me. I mean, a bad movie is a bad movie, regardless of how much dope one smokes...unless the movie requires that I smoke while viewing? That ain't good.

trust me , get on some acid and start watching some D grade movie and it will be hilariously good, yet any other time it'll be the worst movie you've seen. The way our neurotransmitters affect our judgement is something not many consider, one day you may hate something and the next day you'll love it. I never said enter the void was a top movie but it certainly isn't the worst, I would have never watched it to the end though but because I could relate to it I was intrigued enough to watch it all
