good film - The Beacon (2011) Discussion

It stinks!
Read the full review on here if youre planning on watching this,because it really is a terribly bad movie,with probably some of the worst acting i`ve seen in years. This will only scare those of you who are still too young to be allowed to watch late night television.

I totally disagree with you. The Beacon was a GREAT movie. A real, good creepy ghost story - and much better than some of the boring, sexually obsessed, so-called "horrors" that are churned out nowadays!

I reckon too.
... An ending that actually made sense !!
It seemed to go cliche-bound, and then suddenly it took a surprising turn.
I'm not that much into horror, but I found this one stood out H&S above so many others... I gave it a 7/10.

Ditto! A very good ghost story that delivered far beyond any of the brain-dead horror films coming out of Hollywood these days.

And speaking of brain-dead, I find it hilarious when people hate a movie so much that they actually take the time to log on to the IMDB and post their opinions, as if anyone really gives a damn what they have to say. Know what I do when I dislike a film? Nothing. I forget about it and move on.

I have to agree- TERRIBLE ACTING..I didn't think I would even be able to sit through it based on the acting alone...it almost bordered on 'so bad it was good' - but it didn't quite make the grade to even that status...

...short...sharp...shock!

I totally agree,I felt duped. Such good talent wasted on an aweful storyline. The worst "horror" flick I've ever wasted time watching.

I don't know if I would go so far as to say it is "good," but it's definitely not bad and much better than the 4.5 it currently holds on IMDB. Personally, I give it a 6/10. It's worth watching.

Finally I comment I agree with. I just finished watching it, thought to myself that it could have been a much better ghost story. Not terrible, but not great for the ghost genre either. So many parts were seriously disjointed. This couple LOST a child at a Halloween fair....no way they are going to have a remotely good time at a Halloween event! So many other things that ruin it for a good ghost fan!! But other parts were very watchable. So, all in all, a mixed bag. Worth a watch, if only once.

This was a TV movie right? It had the worst plot, acting and make up ever... Why did it seem to have been filmed in the early 90s? It didn't even get the HD treatment...
