Serious plothole (spoiler)

**WARNING** Contains spoiler.

In the part where Paul is searching on his computer for information about "fallen" star Vanessa Carver, don't you think that, in addition to stumbling upon her website, there would have been some hits about her suicide? The character was supposedly a popular actress at one time and surely, there would have been something there about that. It just seems unrealistic that someone searching for information on someone else, especially if they are infatuated with that person as Paul was with Vanessa in this movie, would miss something like this.

I otherwise enjoyed the movie, a nice slow buildup to a climatic ending.

just don't even bother, there's so many plotholes i don't even know where to begin. for instance, why are all these "trapped" ghosts able to come and go as they please? best to just leave it alone.

I agree with the both of you, actually...

Also, "trapped" ghosts are technically only supposed to be able to inhabit the place they died. Sure it's not a fixed rule or anything like that it's common folklore if you read around.

Otherwise it becomes abit ridiculous when they're able to come and go places such as when that slut sister's boyfriend was able to dress up in halloween costume and socialise like any human being.

I didn't perceive this as a plot hole at all. The entire experience of surfing her site was probably part of the haunting. Afterall, she deluded him into driving her to work every day and deluded him into doinking her in some house somewhere. I'm pretty sure rigging a ghost website is easy as apple pie, especially if he's using an IP address in their home turf.

You all clearly missed the part where it's explained the ghosts take flesh. That was not a plothole. Using your brain explains that.

As far as the site, that website appeared to be more a personal site. If the person running it killed herself then why the hell would it be updated? As a ghost it is hardly going to be good to update your website when you are only a ghost in flesh wanting to lure suicides to your building, you don't go update your blog every day.

I refuse to argue on IMDB until the general populous actually uses their brains

He presumably went to a search site and searched her name... The point was, you'd think the search results would hint at her death...
