Another type of addiction (may contain spoilers)

Ok, so the show is based on Jackie's addiction to drugs. But, there is another addiction that is depicted in the show: Eddie's addiction to Jackie. I wouldn't say that Eddie is "in love" with Jackie as much as he is addicted to her. He goes to great lengths to keep her in his life even after he learns that she is married (which initially bothers him).

Any thoughts on that?

I like your theory. It makes sense. Right down to the risky behavior in which he engages in order to be with her. Not just the procurement of illegal drugs but things like meeting Kevin seemed to give him a buzz that just heightened his "Jackie addiction".

I thought it was great that I had more patience. Turns out... I just don't give a sh!t

You are totally right. I can't stand Eddie for the most part but he is certainly and interesting character. He is codependent and he is an enabler. It seems like he does all of these things for Jackie just to keep her in his life. He risks his job repeatedly and breaks the law just to try to help her. I think he knows that he is not helping her and that it's not going to change, but he wants to be the one to save her.

You knew as soon as he ended up in the ER after he lost his job in the first season, that he was not emotionally healthy.

You're right. He is obsessed with her to the point he stalks her and her husband, and eventually commits serious drug felonies for her and ends up in prison. Even then, he doesn't seem to care much about what's happening to him. It's a sick relationship.
