I don’t think they can have 20-22 episodes per season, like Law & Order. The budget for “The Boys” is probably very high for 8 episodes, given all they have to do (costumes and CGI) to make this show possible

Butcher’s 6-month timeline was meant to bring some character change in Butcher. It draws sympathy from Ryan, and he shows another side to his personality by admitting that he’s terrified about dying etc.
The way the smart black chick controls Homelander is ehh. So I agree with you there. Maybe the issue is the weak actress who plays the role, as she doesn’t have much charisma; or maybe they could have given her more superpowers or backstory to give her character some pizazz . Just seems like she should’ve been a minor comedic character, not a critical piece of the season’s storyline
I’ll wait to see where the Hughie dad stuff goes before passing judgment. He seemed to be bonding with his mother in the last episode. It’s possible something happens to her to push Hughie and The Boys further, or maybe she turns on him in a swerve
None of the main characters die, but truthfully - how can you have it otherwise? The show went over well because many of the main characters are so beloved, particularly Mother’s Milk, Starlight, Hughie, Butcher, Homelander, Deep, A-Train. If you kill off any of them, then you risk some backlash. I guess they could kill Frenchie and Mikado. But given Frenchie’s newfound homosexuality, they wont risk upsetting the woke mob, and Mikado is the only one of the Boys with superpowers: she’s needed often to give them a chance during fights
I agree about how Mother’s Milk lost so much weight. When I first saw him in S04, I actually googled to check that they didn’t get a new actor because I wasn’t sure if it was him

Honestly, what’s the whole thing with starlight. She’s practically useless and has like zero useful powers.
Plus the actresses face looks very…odd now. Looks like needless plastic surgery. Her arc with the firecracker was useless. She’s only there for nursing home lander which is coming up soon I bet for the “shock value” thing again. But she’s like nowhere in the same league as Elisabeth Shue and her awesomeness.
Starlight is totally useless along with Deep and ATrain and black Noir.
With Homelander being at Superman level I don’t even know why they bother with the silly “Seven” given rest don’t even do anything.
Then there was the whole compound V. All gone now. Laughable.
Then the ridiculous “cia” who are humans but want to have the black guy and his few guys stop homelander and act all pissy that they can’t do it as if they’re threatening to step in and fix and do it themselves. Esp the old lady who acts all rushed and in a hurry as if There’s a time limit now or something.
These guys can fly and run at super sonic speed and these cia think they are the opposite balanced side ? lol. What is this stupidity.
Then there’s supposedly hundreds of these “mutants” a la XMen but they hold pageants to see who can make it to the “seven”. Hahaha. I mean ugh. The cringe.
IMO the show should have been that compound V gives Homelander powers and he has a supply of them stashed but can be made human by say Compound W or Z or whatever.
And it’s balanced and Vought controls him that way. It’s stupid to think Vaught can control Superman like figure without any leverage except some social media “likes” and “followers”. Ahahahahahaha. I mean have they seen their own character Homelander? You really think he would give a shit about twats and tweets. lol.
They didn’t balance the show. The villains are Superman, flash and lady who can explode heads remotely and good guys are humans who are basically nobodies. And have some Japanese girl who is mystery even in s4

I knew they’d have firecracker only for nursing homelander.
She has like 0 appeal and chemistry with anyone on the show (as a character the actress plays. No offense to her as a real person ).
The show is lame and just nonsensical honestly.
Homelander goes to the Vought secret bunker they’re doing experiments on…with… no one? And butchers all of them and absolutely nothing made of it. Nada. So why can’t he just laser all the Boys and the girls in it?
Starlight is so mega useless. S4 and still not sure what exactly she can do and seems so amateurish still at it unable to control whatever she can even do.
ATrain and Deep and Black Noir might not even exist and zero things change in the show. Ditto Ashley and others.
Homelander lasered some poor tech girl and again. Nothing. Zero. Nothing came of it.
The whole show is clueless and being shepherded by some people who have no idea what they’re doing and it shows. And maybe they have weird sexual fantasies or tastes because it’s like over the top male nudity but zero female nudity. I mean WTH? Isn’t this show for male audiences mostly?
There’s like 0 challengers to Homelander and it’s just annoying at this point.
Make up your mind with Ryan where he’s good or bad. Also make up your mind with opposition like Soldier Boy. He can’t just disappear with out being actually completely gone along with Maeve and others. Just makes no sense this show now
