So bullets can't penetrate Stormfront but a knife can?

Seemed odd she can withstand tons of bullets with no damage, but Becca stabs her in the eye and takes her eye out.

reply

That confused me also. She also withstands Homelander's laser vision....mostly

reply

Homelander can control the intensity, as was seen when he heated the milk bottle. That doesn't say much.

But yeah, the knife to the eye is stupid. It means she could have been defeated with...a bow and arrow.

reply

Thx for pointing that out. . .I had a number of arguments w/some very confused people about HL's laservision, and SF's durability.

But. . .there are reasons the knife to eye makes sense; as I explained below.

reply

maybe Stormfronts eyeball is her Achilles heel. or all her body parts are not created equally super-duper.

or it was just an oversight F**K up.

reply

Maybe it's like in Lord of the Rings? "No man can kill" her?

reply

Most peoples eyes are softer than their skin.

reply

You say that as a matter of fact. That's not necessarily true unless you've evaluated every single comic book character and confirmed that. Look at Superman Returns and the fact that a bullet bounces off of Superman's eyeball (https://youtu.be/C2gQo-0VW5c?t=98).

reply

Did anyone try shooting her directly in the eyes though? Because if not, I don't think it's that odd that her eyes can be penatrated and her skin can't.

reply

It seems odd because you're not a material science geek 😎

It's a common misconception that bullets have more penetrative effect than blades. Nothing could be further from the truth: there is no shortage of ballistic vests that will do just fine against bullets, but succumb to a knife.

(FWIW, without going into the physics: a (sufficiently sharp) knifepoint will concentrate a TREMENDOUS amount of force into an infinitesimally small point, with devastating results.)

Add in the fact that (as others have indicated) NOBODY's eyes are as durable as their skin, and this makes perfect sense. So: just as in the comics, Stormfront's eye gets (logically) attacked, with gruesome efficiency.

Maybe it's like the force field shields in Dune?
