I'm done

Last episode was enough for me. Any more seems like it would be too much. It's set up for more. I hope other fans enjoy the future of the series. Enjoy guys.

reply

Yeah, why?

reply

Right now, the story from the first two seasons is well wrapped up. I prefer to not see it expand. They already started creating the new bad guy with the head popping lady. I don't care to see where that goes.
Every show has a good place to stop. This is the place I've chosen.

reply

But there needs to be resolve with Homlander at least.

isnt this based off a graphic novel anyway? if so, how long is the graphic novel?

reply

Yeah, the series is about halfway through the story in the original comics. Anyone jumping off the train here is gonna miss out on some pretty amazingly cool stuff. . .

reply

I hope you enjoy it. I'm jumping off.

reply

I'm not interested. I'm good stopping here.

I get it, most definitely

I'm very happy with where the series has landed.

It's perfectly acceptable to me that their world will never be rid of supes; Pandora's box is opened. Life will have to go on with both supes and compound V out of the bag.

But the character arcs for ALL the main characters have wound up nicely. Huey's stronger and wiser without becoming another Butcher. Butcher himself has learned to come to terms with supes like Starlight, Kimiko and his wife's son. "The Boys" are amicably dissolved as unnecessary. Homelander is all alone -- not sufficient punishment for his sins but it's pretty harsh regardless and leaves him in a bad place as his last scene shows. And Starlight has become tougher without sacrificing all of her basic decency.

I wish more story-arc shows would end their seasons like this. "Dexter" ran for eight seasons with, I think, only two cliffhanger endings. If the story's strong enough and popular enough, you don't need a cliffhanger to bring viewers back.

Then again, I realize my last point is somewhat invalidated by the OP's position in this very thread.

Oh well, I for one WILL keep watching. All these streaming series have to end at some point anyway, because of economics. Each season will cost more while losing viewers/subscribers, until they have to pull the plug no matter how good the show. And that's fine by me.

reply

I don't hold your perspective, but respect the fact you're still enjoying what you like.

reply

The comic is like.. 700 pages or something like that. They have tons of content to use.

reply

I'm just not interested enough to continue. I hope you have fun with the rest.

reply

Cheers mate, I most probably will.

reply

I am not sure why we need to know that.

reply

I hope I live a full life and can have a similar outlook when my number is called.

As for the boys I'm going to let it disappoint me before I bail. (You are also assuming there will be something better to watch)

But I agree this is a perfect ending.

reply

Theres Bob's burgers and it's always sunny. Enjoy the show.

reply

Stormfront was defeated too easily.

reply

It's true, although I think they also raised another issue with that, because it makes Homelander's son's moral upbringing very important, because he's so powerful, but now he's being raised by Billy Butcher. So Billy Butcher's moral compass now becomes very important, but he has already done a lot of morally bad things in the pursuit of his goal of taking down the supes.

reply

He's not being raised by Butcher. Re-watch that last scene.

reply

I know he got sent off with the CIA or the NSA or whichever secret agency, but his mother essentially put the obligation to prevent him becoming another Homelander onto Billy Butcher, thus forcing him to have a hand in his raising and especially in his moral upbringing. That is how I interpreted it anyway.

reply

My takeaway from that scene was that the the gov't was gonna raise him, but I may be misremembering. Seemed pretty clear that Butcher was handing the kid over and saying goodbye.
Not a bad excuse to re-watch. . . 😎

reply

Yeah I should probably rewatch it too :)

reply

The fact that he killed his own mother is enough to mess him up regardless of his upbringing before or after than incident.

Incidentally, it seemed to me that Stormfront killed the mother not the boy, so I didn't understand why Butcher was so mad at him.

reply

It looked like Ryan's heat vision was all over the place. It didn't just sever Stormfront's limbs, it half-cooked her. So it's at least possible that Ryan actually cut his mom's carotid artery in all the confusion.

Also, it's clear that Becca thought Ryan did it - that's why she was begging Butcher NOT to blame Ryan.

Most importantly, Ryan thinks he did it, and that really trumps any other reality -- he'll have to live with it. Hopefully, Mallory can guide him properly. She's got a lot of guilt to atone for herself, after all.

And of course, Butcher boiled all of his life lessons for Ryan into a single slogan.

I think, in the end, we're supposed to feel optimistic about Ryan's chances of growing up to be Clark Kent instead of Homelander.

reply

It was a good ending yeah.

I hope there is more................

reply

I will be watching the 3rd and final season.
By what someone has written on your post we are half way through the comic.
I think the rest of the comic can be completed in a final 10 episode season.

I am a fan of the show, but it's not a great show.
Its not something that will be missed if it doesn't return.

All this show really has is the fact that Homelander is extremely entertaining.

reply

you're such a kunt

reply

Okay. Have fun with that.

reply

he's referencing the show ya kunt
